Point the camera at an appliance data plate. casatend reads the brand and model off it and matches them to a manual. No typing a 17 character model number off a label behind the machine.
Rev. 0Home records and upkeep
Every house is a set of systems with service intervals, model numbers, and paperwork. casatend records all of it, tells you when something needs attention, and hands the whole file to the next owner when you sell.
In development. iPhone and Android. No release date yet, and we will not pretend otherwise.
| No. | System | Model | Next |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Furnace | Carrier 59SC5 | Filter, 9 days over |
| 2 | Water heater | Rheem XE50 | Flush, Friday |
| 3 | Roof | Asphalt shingle | Inspect, October |
| 4 | Electrical panel | 200A, 2014 | No task |
| 5 | Dishwasher | Bosch SHX78 | Warranty, 21 days |
| 6 | Smoke alarms | 6 units | Tested |
A drawer of manuals. A photo of a serial number. An email from a contractor two years ago. A warranty that quietly expired last spring. None of it is anywhere you would think to look at the moment you need it.
Every tool for this ends up being a spreadsheet with a nicer font. The work is not keeping a list. The work is knowing what your home has in the first place, and having the paperwork turn up when it matters.
Setup is a short wizard in eight parts: your home, heating and cooling, water systems, kitchen, laundry, bathrooms, outside, and safety. Roughly thirty questions, most of them yes or no.
Say you have a tankless water heater and casatend knows to descale it. Say you have a septic system and it knows the pumping interval. Get interrupted halfway and your answers are still there when you come back.
| Section | Asks about | Produces |
|---|---|---|
| Heating and cooling | Furnace, boiler, heat pump, AC, mini split | Filter intervals, seasonal service |
| Water systems | Water heater, softener, well, septic, sump | Flush, descale, salt, pumping |
| Kitchen and laundry | Range, dishwasher, fridge, washer, dryer | Coil cleaning, vent clearing, warranties |
| Outside and safety | Roof, gutters, deck, mower, alarms, extinguishers | Seasonal tasks, test and replace dates |
Today gathers what is due, what is overdue, and what warranties are running out, across every home you belong to. Complete something from the list without opening anything else.
Reminders arrive in the app, by email, or as a push notification, and each of those is a separate switch per kind of reminder. Choose a daily or weekly digest and casatend will not tell you about the same overdue task seven times.
Anything that takes more than a few seconds does not get recorded, so capture and filing are separate: get it in with one move, sort it out when you feel like it.

Every home gets its own address. Forward a purchase confirmation and the receipt is read, split into line items, and waiting to be attached to the fixture or repair it belongs to.

An item, a receipt, or a repair, one tap from the home screen. It lands in an inbox and becomes a real record whenever you get to it.
casatend keeps a shared library of manuals keyed by model. Add a dishwasher and there is often one already on file from another household. Contribute yours back if you want to, and see what happened to it.
Then it reads them. A manual becomes a set of proposed maintenance tasks, each shown with the sentence it came from and the page it is on, so you can check the work before anything lands on your schedule.
Clean the condenser coils at least once every twelve months to maintain cooling efficiency.
Search runs across your own documents and the manuals covering the models you own, by meaning rather than by keyword. You do not have to remember which manual it was in, or what the manufacturer decided to call the part.
Open a result and the PDF opens at the right page with the passage highlighted. That is the whole feature: the thing you needed, on screen, in one move.
why is the ice maker not filling
If the ice maker is not producing ice, confirm the water supply shutoff is open and the fill tube is not frozen.

A single score out of a hundred and the specific gaps behind it. Not a nagging count of empty fields: it weighs what is recorded against what could be, so a large home missing a few serial numbers is not ranked alongside a small one missing most of them.
Every gap links straight to the records that need attention.
| 4 | Fixtures missing a serial number |

| 2 | Fixtures with no manual on file |
| 6 | Receipts waiting to be reviewed |
Every home you have ever bought came with a shoebox, or nothing. casatend hands over the whole file instead: fixtures, manuals, warranties, work history, and paperwork, transferred to the new owner's account.
You decide item by item what conveys. Fixtures go with the house. Nothing personal moves unless you say so, and you keep a downloadable archive of everything.
